2021.10.16 14:05 Fragrant-Session-117 1st dynasty veto ever- thoughts?

Dynasty question...in 14 team 0.5 ppr there is a trade. 1 qb league. $75 a year league
Ekeler straight up for late 1st round 2022 pick (probably 12 to 14th pick)..All good players (say 5) say its crazy...others very novice...commish is the one getting ekeler...trade needs 7 to veto..thoughts?
Commish is getting Ekeler side. I think Ekeler is worth at least double that and probably triple as picking 12 to 14th...

2021.10.16 14:05 kogmothra A Growing List of Things I Wish the Public Knew About 911

AKA Tips from your friendly neighborhood 911 dispatcher:
Encourage elders you know to call 911 for themselves - culturally, the elderly can be timid or hesitant to call 911 but will call or message a family member about needing assistance, resulting in 2nd hand relay information that can get skewed or misinterpreted along the way; this can also significantly delay the response dispatch, and any potentially life-saving instructions the operator can provide.
Do not abuse the system - 911 is to report emergencies, not to gather information. Read the news and you'll know what we know. For example: Yes, we are aware there is a fire... no, I cannot tie up an emergency line to tell you details. Additionally, neighbor disputes that do not put your life or property at risk are not 911 issues. We are sorry your neighbors are a bit noisier than you would like on a Friday night, but you are distracting us from the saving the life of someone down the road when you keep us on the line complaining about something you could easily address to your neighbor in conversation.
Be precise with your reported information and key words - this ensures that you are assisted by the correct agency and get the help you need in a timely manner. For example, don't call 911 on your neighbors and only state "fire" if your chief complaint is about noise; this will get you transferred to the fire department, who will not be able to assist you with noise complaints. If they are having a party and sitting around a little fire drinking and making a ton of noise, the "issue" is the noise, not the tiny contained fire pit. Accurate key words are, well... key.
If you are travelling out of the area, do some research before you go. For many months of the year, certain areas are prone to wildfire, or rockslides, or any number of publicly visible incidents. Dozens of out-of-area callers filling up emergency phone lines reporting a weeks-long incident as they drive through delays response to others in immediate need of assistance. There are ample resources out there to check highway conditions and current events in the news of areas you are traveling to or through that may be impacted, and they only take a few minutes of your time. Plus, you may find something new to do at your destination that you weren't aware of before. Win-win.
Be patient with the operator on the line with you - there are scripts and specific questions that we are required to ask per our jobs and per the law. They may sound silly, redundant, or useless to you but to us they can - and sometimes do - mean the difference between life and death, freedom, or the arrest of a suspicious person, etc. You may not know all the information we are asking of you, and we know you are potentially experiencing one of the worst moments of your life, but your understanding and patience could be what keeps that operator from burning out on the job.
If you don't know where you are, try your best to find landmarks - mile posts, signage, anything you can spot that may help us figure out where you are will mean aid getting to you faster. On the other hand, we may not know where you are, so please don't assume that mentioning a certain family home or odd shaped rock will immediately tell us your location. We may be sitting 70 miles away with no knowledge of your town and only a semi-sufficient map assisting us in determining your whereabouts. A little bit of patience will go a long way, and ensure we get aid to the correct location as efficiently as possible.
Please understand that if you live in rural areas, responders will probably take longer to reach you. We are not withholding aid, and many of your local fire stations - which do have EMTs, yes - are likely volunteer, meaning they are not paid to be there around the clock, and we cannot guarantee they will be able to go. We will dispatch them, but your next closest guaranteed responders may have a very extended ETA. This is not the fault of the 911 operator, it is simply because of the location of your home. Screaming at the operator will not help, and only pushes them closer to burnout.
Burnout is real. The weight of the job and the services we provide is real. We will always wonder if we could have done something to better assist you on the worst day of your life, and we will carry the memory of it like a little monster on our shoulder screaming our perceived errors into our heads and planting seeds of doubt. Your attitude toward first responders - even in your worst moments - helps diminish that monster just a bit. We will still carry it with us, but it will be just a bit more manageable each time we pick up that phone.
Let us guide the conversation. We have a script. We cannot hear you if you are simply shrieking into the receiver. Take a moment, take a breath, listen to what we ask you, and even though it may be the most difficult thing you've ever had to do, in that moment remain calm and reply to our questions with a level voice and clear information, and we will get help on the way as soon as we know what is going on.
If there is a dangerous situation, our priority is our responders. This may sound bad or wrong to you, but please understand that sending a wave of responders into something that could get them hurt or killed then prevents them from assisting you. For example: if you hear gunshots in the area, but you are safe... hide, call 911, and please tell the operator immediately of the danger. We will send responders to stage until the area is cleared of danger. We must save their lives so they can save yours - it is not a refusal to help you, or a personal attack against you. It is procedure. Dangers to our responders include but are not limited to suicidal subjects that may attack responders, domestic violence or other assaults, armed suspects, overdose calls in which the patient could become violent, or the responders could accidentally handle a substance that could harm them (such as fentanyl), etc...
Don't jump to conclusions and assume the worst if you have no information to provide us, and no guarantee there is an emergency - this needlessly occupies our incoming emergency phone lines and delays assistance to others in need. Make sure there is an emergency before calling. For example: if you smell smoke... consider why before calling. Is it summertime in a fire-prone area that has had a large wildfire burning for weeks? If you don't see flames across the road from you, you are likely smelling drift smoke. If you are in the mountains in the winter and smell smoke at 5am in the snow and fog, is the forest on fire? If you don't see flames, it is probably homes with wood stoves nearby. If you see a car pulled off the side of the road, but there isn't any immediately obvious indication of an accident... Stop and look. Is it wrecked? Are people hurt? Is anyone even inside or nearby? Calling and reporting false emergencies - even if you have no malicious intent - ties up those responders who could be resting between calls or saving another life or home down the road.
Remaining anonymous when reporting an emergency isn't wrong, but it isn't helpful. We are required to ask for your information, and by providing it, you may be helping us more than you know. You could be the reason an arsonist gets arrested for burning down your neighbor's house or starting a 200K acre wildfire. You could be the reason a drunk driver gets held accountable for a hit and run collision that kills a child. We don't ask you to "get you in trouble with your neighbor." We ask for our records, and so we and our investigators and responders can do the best job possible in both the dispatch center and the field.
Be kind to your first responders and 911 operators. We didn't choose the job for the glamor, or a pat on the back. We chose the job to help people and to make our community a better place. Your local civil servants don't need a parade, but a kind smile can go a long way for a responder or an operator coming off a rough shift and trying to avoid burnout, depression, and the inevitable growth of that weight we carry daily.

2021.10.16 14:05 No_Solid_8826 Am I paranoid to be afraid that I'm too pale to find a date?

Some background, I recently have turned 20. And I have never been in a real relationship nor had any sort of sexual or suggestive encounters, I used to be very shy but not as much now but I still have great social anxiety and I fear rejection, I believe this is because I am mostly scared that I'll never find anyone not just because I may be seen as a late bloomer but also because I was born in Northern Europe but I grew up in Australia and I was bullied in school for being perhaps the palest person in the school.

I don't have Albinism however I feel I will never find anyone because I feel 99% of people in my area just don't like how pale I am, I've become that scared that I've considered going in the sun daily without protection to darken my skin (even though I already go in the sun regularly, (I don't tan I burn)

My question is, is this normal to be considered unattractive because of how pale I am and if so what can I do about it? I don't want the game to be much harder for me just because of the way I was born, It gives me heartbreak and anxiety. Are there more people than I think out there that aren't judgemental/picky about this? Am I paranoid?

This was also because my dad even told me the same thing that it will be allot harder for me for this reason.

2021.10.16 14:05 jwwendell OW2 Zarya bubble energy cost.

As people think that Zarya is too weak in OW2 due to her bubble rotation it got me thinking, what if, in addition to her 2 bubble charges with shared CD, make her bubbles to cost some good ammount of energy. There could be a problem tho if Zarya is under a heavy attack and maintaining high ammount of energy she can potentially spam her bubbles (total mayhem) but i think it's tweakable. P.S: Or just reduce her bubble cooldown when low energy, so it'd be a trade "defence on dps"
